BRIEF
KaDeWe Group was bought by Central Group from Thailand who are also the new owners of La Rinascente in Italy and Illum in Copenhagen. The Consultancy was brought in to re-develop the iconic KaDeWe Foodhall (80,000 Sq Ft) the Oberpollinger in Munich, and Alsterhaus in Hamburg
STRATEGY
Due to the scale of the current Foodhall the re-development has been split into four ‘quadrants’ working with different architects and designers for each. The four new trading areas will each represent a different aspect of Berlin heritage and culture ultimately delivering the new concept from its creation through to trading over a period of 4 years
RESULTS
The design for the first quadrant is complete and currently the tender process is underway with construction due to commence in 2017 and a target opening in the Autumn of that year. Second quadrant design will commence simultaneously with the start of construction for quadrant one.
