BRIEF
Standard Life Investments approached the practice to open a “Pop Up” Food Market within one of its properties in London, the result of which was, Food Inc.
Designed to offer customers the best selection of grocery, wine, delicatessen, cheese and dairy, bakery, meat, fish, fruit and vegetables and specialist produce. Much to be prepared in the onsite kitchens by Patrick McDonald and his brigade.
“It may be organic, it may be Fairtrade, it may carry a mark of sustainability – but it will always be the best for the customer and for the environment”.
STRATEGY
Within the Whitley’s shopping mall, Bayswater, London, to develop 360 degree Food Kiosk shopping presented through the main pedestrian walkway of the shopping mall/centre.
RESULTS
The 600sqm development opened in 2008 as a partnership with Standard Life, achieving huge success as a forward thinking way to inject life into pedestrian spaces.
The F&B operations overseen by Pat McDonald allowed the produce and offers to speak for themselves. In addition a new Food Inc. Café was also developed utilising the ingredients from the counters
